“Music penetrates deep into our mind,”

says neuro-psychologist
Annemarie Seither-Preisler of Graz University.
“When it touches us, we can literally see these processes in the brain; and not only there, but also in the whole body:

Our breath, our heartbeat and even the halves of our brain are synchronized.
We become part of
something bigger, that is as well outside us as within.”

Music, regardless of whether it is cheerful or sad, promotes the release of the pleasure substance dopamine.
And it raises our spirits, motivates us, makes us more optimistic, or can even alleviate illness.
